Grunewald (German for Greenwood) is a German forest located in the western side of Berlin on the east side of the Havel, mainly in the Grunewald district. At 3,000 hectares it is the largest green area in the city of Berlin.
The natural environment of the Grunewald shows an extended forest, mainly composed of conifers and betulaceae. Some areas are forbidden to visitors as nature reserves (Naturschutzgebiet) to protect the local fauna (especially amphibians and birds).
Back to Berlin.
It’s good to be back after two weeks in Portugal.
I’ve finished the Leonardo da Vinci program with Centro Europeu de Línguas. I had great results and now I am heading to a new stage in my life. These were three enriching months, where I learnt a lot about working, dealing with problems and growing up.
I can’t wait for what is coming next.

Maya Angelou’s long list of occupations has included pimp, prostitute, night-club dancer and performer, cast-member of the musical Porgy and Bess, coordinator for Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference, author, journalist in Egypt and Ghana during the days of decolonization, and actor, writer, director, and producer of plays, movies, and public television programs.
Yolande Cornelia “Nikki” Giovanni (born June 7, 1943) is an American poet, writer, commentator, activist, and educator. Her primary focus is on the individual and the power one has to make a difference in oneself and in the lives of others. Giovanni’s poetry expresses strong racial pride, respect for family, and her own experiences as a daughter, a civil rights activist, and a mother. She is currently a distinguished professor of English at Virginia Tech. Both Giovanni’s mother and sister died of lung cancer and in 1995 Giovanni herself was diagnosed with the disease. She had surgery at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and eventually had a lung removed. Giovanni gave up smoking after she was diagnosed, saying in 1996 that she now smokes in her dreams.
Working for a new exhibition!
I started doing some research about powerful black women, political activists, writters, black panthers, etc., and I choose four to work in my illustrations - Nicki Giovanni, Angela Davis, Maya Angelou and Rosa Parks. What amazing women they are.
